Simeone: “It was a tough game, but we gave it our all”
Our coach, Morata Saúl and Herrera spoke following Sunday’s game at the José Zorrilla stadium.
Simeone analysed Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Valladolid.
“It was a tough game like every time we play here. They were better in the first half and we were better in the second. We gave it our all,” the Argentine said.
Morata admitted to a degree of fatigue but urged our team to keep working hard.
“We were a bit tired following our game in Moscow, but that can’t be an excuse. We can’t change how this game went, but now we have to keep working hard,” our striker said.
Saúl said the team hadn’t kicked off the game how they had wanted.
“We didn’t start the match how we should have, and it isn’t the first time it happens. We didn’t lack intensity but at times there was too much space between our players,” the Spaniard said.
Herrera also shared his thoughts on the draw.
“We wanted to take home more than one point, because we always play to win, but it could come in handy in the future,” the Mexican said.
