Simeone: "It was a tough and complicated match"
Our boss analyzed our 2-0 win against Sporting CP.
After our 2-0 win in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash against Sporting CP in the Wanda Metropolitano, Diego Pablo Simeone spoke to the press and analyzed the game.
"It was a tough and complicated match, but we knew how to interpret the game," Simeone said. "We pressured well in Sporting's half of the field and were able to create opportunities."
Despite the win, Simeone knows the tie isn't settled and expects a tough match in Lisbon.
"I think the tie isn't settled," he said. "A tough match awaits in Lisbon and their fans are going to make themselves present."
Our boss was happy with the how the team competed and is pleased with the lads' performance.
"We have to keep this up," he continued. "Individually and collectively we played a good match."
