Simeone: “It was a game that will go down in history against an extraordinary opponent”
Our coach, Llorente, Joao Félix and Koke spoke after Wednesday’s fantastic Champions League win over Liverpool at Anfield.
Simeone expressed his happiness following Wednesday’s 3-2 win at Anfield.
“I’m very happy for the team and the club. We’re once again amongst Europe’s eight best teams. It was a game that will go down in history against an extraordinary opponent at a beautiful stadium. Their fans supported them like our fans did at the Wanda Metropolitano. Our supporters were incredible, you could hear them throughout the match,” our coach said.
Llorente also spoke after scoring two extra-time goals.
“The whole team did an incredible job. We defended together and when we all fight together, these things happen,” the Spaniard said.
Joao Félix spoke about the hard work that had gone into preparing the tie.
“We’ve suffered a lot and we’ve worked very hard. It was worth it. We’re going to fight for more,” the Portuguese said.
Koke also shared his thoughts after the clash.
“Hard work pays off. We’d been playing quite well in the last month. We must use this win to continue doing things well,” our captain said.
