SIMEONE PRAISED THE WORK OF HIS PLAYERS DURING THE WHOLE MATCH

Simeone: "I’m proud of the team I have"

Our coach noted the work of the group and that, even with 9 players on the field, following the same philosophy of game is something that will bring something good in the future.

Diego Pablo Simeone started his press conference pointing out that "I’m proud of the team I have. Incredible. We played a great first time, except for those 10 minutes in which Barcelona pressured and scored the two goals. In the second half we started with 10 men and we controlled the gaps situation quite well, not so with the ball. We had a very clear situation with Griezmann’s play and later, with eight men on the field, we still maintained the same profile of the team we are. It’s clear that you can win and you can lose, because it’s part of the game. But I prefer losing like this every time."

He highlighted several of its players saying, "The team has many young players who are growing. The match played today by Saul was fantastic; Carrasco’s was very good. And that gives you hope. The entry of Thomas, with the difficulties the match had, was good. He had no fear, he had personality. And as for us, because we are always positive, we take away many good things even if the defeat hurts. Seeing a team with 8 players on the field who work, who don’t drop their philosophy of the game... This brings something positive for the future. This is not where it ends."
