Simeone: "I am leaving pleased despite the defeat"
Atlético’s coach appeared at the press conference after being defeated at Anoeta by two goals to one.
Diego Pablo Simeone appeared at the press conference after the red and white team suffered a defeat at Anoeta against Real Sociedad (2-1). The Argentinian valued the match in the following way: "It was an entertaining match, very intense... We started off well and then Real responded. They scored the equaliser and in the start of the second half, which I think we started off well again, we had a sending off and Real started to play more intensely on our field until they scored the goal and took the match."
Simeone assessed the sending off for the double yellow card from Guilherme Siqueira at the start of the second half: "It is a game situation. He goes with the intention of reaching the ball and the momentum of the game allows for those types of situations."
Lastly, Atlético’s coach downplayed the defeat due to the results in the rest of the round's matches: "I am leaving pleased because it was a good day. Valencia tied, Sevilla tied, and the truth is that the defeat was not that bad."
