Diego Pablo Simeone’s legacy as Atlético manager doesn’t stop growing. Following tonight’s UEFA Super Cup glory against Real Madrid, Simeone has become our most successful manager ever with seven trophies won. He surpassed Luis Aragonés haul of six trophies. As our boss, Simeone has won two Europa Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups, one Copa del Rey, one LaLiga and one Spanish Super Cup. He took over our side back in late 2012 and has since then become our must successful manager. Atlético fans will never forget that first Europa League won under Simeone, the 2013 Copa del Rey final at the Santiago Bernabéu or the 2014 LaLiga we won at the Camp Nou. Simeone has instilled a winning mentality to our team.
On the other hand, Aragonés led our side to one LaLiga, three Copas del Rey, one Spanish Super Cup and one Intercontinental Cup.
