Simeone analysed Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Alavés.
“Alavés were better in the first half. They were more intense and more aggressive. We played badly in the first half. The second half was the complete opposite. We played well, applied high pressure, had chances to score… We must embrace our second half performance and understand what we did in the first half,” our coach said.
Thomas urged the team to continue working hard.
“It was a tough match. They’re strong at home. We took the lead, but they equalised through a fantastic goal. We have to keep working hard,” our midfielder said.
Hermoso claimed that our team was playing well when Alavés equalised.
“We train to win and we play to win. We play every game as if it were a final. At half-time we knew we had to turn things around. We were unlucky to concede in the end, because we were playing and defending well,” our defender said.
