Silvio Azevedo was presented at the VIP suite of the Estadio Vicente Calderon. The Portuguese player became the first signing for the 2011-12 season to be disclosed to the media. The player was happy and excited to wear the red and white. 'I am proud to wear and represent the shirt of Atlético de Madrid. They’ve explained to me all about the club, but I already knew the size and importance of the club,' said the defender.   The new Atlético de Madrid play was on trial for a week with Chelsea when Mourinho was in charge there, but ultimately he did not stay with the London club. Silvio said 'I was very young, only 18. Mourinho was not in London, he was away touring with the team and couldn’t see me train. That was a great experience for me which helped me to continue growing in the world of football. '   Silvio will play in the same league as his countryman Cristiano Ronaldo and believes that 'he’s the best player in the world, its an honour to be in the same league as him.'
