Saúl signs the win in Pamplona
The player from Elche levelled the match midway through the second half, beating Aitor Fernández with a low shot after a great assist from De Paul.
A hard-earned win on Sunday at El Sadar, where our team beat Osasuna 0-1 in the match corresponding to the 19th LaLiga matchday.
Although the game reached half-time with no changes on the scoreboard, our team had several opportunities to have gone into the changing rooms leading the scoreboard. The clearest of these was a Giménez header from a corner that went over the crossbar in the 25th minute, as did a long-range right-footed shot from Barrios in the 31st minute.
At the restart, we continued to look for the 0-1 lead and we threw ourselves on Aitor Fernández's goal, who in the 47th minute saved a shot from Griezmann from the halfway line of the area. Our team were very dangerous in the opening stages of the second half and again the Frenchman, with a high volley in the 53rd minute, came close to scoring.
A goal that Osasuna also had in the boots of Moi Gómez, who came up against a spectacular Oblak when in the 63rd minute he headed in a great service from Abde from the left flank. The Slovenian goalkeeper was at his best again in the 70th minute, with a saving hand to keep out Diego's goal after a long-range shot from the latter had been poisoned after hitting Saúl.
It was the player from Elche who scored the only goal of the afternoon, joining the attack and winning the back of the local defence in the 74th minute. Then, a magnificent lofted pass from De Paul between the lines was cushioned by the '17' with his chest, to beat the keeper with a powerful cross-shot in a one-on-one situation.
But the fact that we were ahead on the scoreboard didn't make us take our foot off the accelerator. Not in vain, Aitor Fernández saved another one-on-one from Griezmann moments later, as well as another dangerous header from Giménez, thus ensuring that the Atleti win was not more comfortable.
