Saúl Ñíguez plays his 150th match as an Atlético
Our player from the ranks has reached his 150th match defending the red and white colours in the match against UD Las Palmas.
The match against UD Las Palmas was also special for Saúl Ñíguez. With this Saturday’s match in Grand Canary against the local team, Atlético’s midfielder reached his 150th match defending our club’s shirt. The matches in these record are divided as follows: 91 League games, 30 in the Champions League, 8 in the Europa League, 18 in the King’s Cup and 2 in the Spanish Super Cup.
A player trained in the lower categories of our Academy, and who made his debut for the first time with Atlético in an official Europa League match that was played at the Vicente Calderón against the Turkish Besiktas and that ended in a 3-1 win for our team. From this 8th of March of 2012, Saúl has become one of the regular players in Atlético de Madrid ‘s midfield and has not stopped adding games and scoring goals.
