THE GOAL:

0-1 85'. Vietto
beats Moyá with a shot from inside the box.

First defeat of the season at home in a game in which we did not stop trying but we lacked luck and killing instinct to overcome Vietto’s goal. The first half was marked by the tremendous struggle in the midfield. Both teams sought to control the game through possession, but none came to control the fixture. Tiago had the first clear chance to open the scoring. A hard shot from the Portuguese, very close to the post, was sent to the corner by Asenjo with a great stretch. A few minutes later it was Koke who tried it from outside the box but his shot brushed the visiting goal.

The second half was more intense than the first. Our team came out determined to win the victory and tried for the goal from the first minute, but a lack of scoring punch prevented us from scoring. For their part, the visitors went ahead with a goal by Vietto on the second time Villarreal reached the box. The Argentinian beat Moyá with a high shot from inside the box. In the final minutes we threw ourselves in search of a draw that did not happen.
