Raúl Jiménez, in statements to Atlético’s website, said he was "well, happy. I'm very happy to debut with the team and continue doing things right for what’s coming.

Mario Suárez emphasized how fast the new player connected with the team. "I adapted fast to the team. I think that good plays were made during good moments of the game and that’s what I have to do, adapt in the best way, and do it as I‘d been doing in Mexico", he said.

Regarding his leaving the field because of an injury, he reassured the red and white fans by saying that "it was only a cramp in the left calf, because of the trip and the few days that I’ve been training. Happy to be able to obtain the title".

Lastly, he said that he has the Spanish Super Cup in mind because "you have to change gears and think about it. And starting tomorrow, train with everyone and think about winning the Super Cup".
