Raúl Jiménez: "I will give everything in each game to continue growing"
Raúl Jiménez was presented as Atlético de Madrid’s new player and commented before the media how defending our team’s shirt is a challenge.
The Mexican striker, Raúl Jiménez, was presented at the VIP Lounge of the Vicente Calderon Stadium. Before taking the field, he received his new shirt from Enrique Cerezo, the Club’s President, and José Luis Pérez Caminero, its Sporting Manager.
The Aztec forward acknowledged that being in our team is a challenge he looks forward to and he wants to write his own story at Atlético de Madrid. "It’s a very important challenge in my career, I have to give it my all. Knowing that there have been Mexicans in the team fills me with pride. It’s a very big team and they’ve been able to get here, but I’ve come to make my own history, to fight for a place and to deliver my best", he admitted.
In the few weeks he’s been in Club, what’s struck him most is the team’s winning spirit and the will to succeed year after year. "I've noticed that the team is mentally very strong, intending to do things right match-by-match to achieve the greatest number of points in order to improve what they did last year. I'm here to contribute and to give my best in every game, in every workout, so Atlético achieves its best", he claimed.

Atlético de Madrid’s new player has promised to work, always giving his all both in training and in matches for the good of the team. "I'm going to give it all in every game to continue to grow. Goals may come, but the important thing is that the team continues doing things well, and I'll try to add and give everything for the team", he explained.
For his part, the Club’s President, Enrique Cerezo, wanted to highlight that the arrival of the Mexican striker aims to complete one of the objectives of the Club such as "find young players with projection to grow in our team together with experienced players". At the same time, he defined Raúl Jiménez as an "elegant player with a portentous physique who represents everything good of Mexican football players: character, class and fight".
