Raúl García: "We are a close-knit group and we are all heading in the same direction"

The player from Navarra appeared before the media and stressed the great group that’s being formed above all because "the Club is above any player".

The second captain appeared in a press conference at the end of the last training in the golf course at Los Ángeles de San Rafael. He began by recalling how demanding it is to defend the red and white shirt. "The intention is to compete. I’ve always thought that the Club is above any player. The responsibility of all who’re here wearing this shirt have, the commitment to the Club, to the fans, with ourselves, makes us live up to what we’ve been achieving. We want compete to the fullest and try to do things well, as we did last year", he reflected.

We’re not afraid of anything. The group we have is very good

The midfielder noted on several occasions the importance of the group and the team since they are "A very homely group, very close and very competitive, always heading in the same direction". He also wanted to remember that "The group we have is good, last year’s starter players are still here. We aren’t afraid of anything, it’s clear that the group we have is very good and together with the people we have and the people who are going to come, it’s going to be a very competitive group”.

The player from Navarra, as well as Gabi, commented that his teammates are very committed to the team. "We must think about the ones who’re here, about the people who’ve stayed, as our captain said the other day. The commitment to the Club is brutal", he said.

At the same time, the Atlético player said "The Club is working on getting new players" and "There’s still a month of hard work for them". He also noted that new additions always help to the group. "The new arrivals are good for us, both as new blood and as people who imposes on us the desire to keep improving, it’s good for us", he said.
