Our team defeated Cádiz and got into the final of the LX Carranza Trophy, which will be played this Saturday from 22.00.
Diego Pablo Simeone’s players started carrying the weight of the match from the outset, trying to open the field to generate spaces in Cádiz’s rear. The chances soon succeeded one another, but neither the acrobatic shot from Mandzukic, nor the headers of Raúl García and Griezmann could beat Aulestia, the local goalkeeper. A shot from the distance by Tiago, which was deflected, didn’t find the goal either or a header from Godín after a corner kick that crashed into the crossbar. Despite the dominating visitor, Cádiz got in a shot of Juan Villar that was caught without problem by Moya.
The start of the second half brought a few intense minutes in which neither team was willing to give up a single meter. The scoreboard of the Ramón of Carranza marked 59 minutes when a centre by Raúl García was shot well enough to beat Aulestia and score the first goal of the match. A spirited Cádiz tried to equal the score without success through Airam, who shot a volley diverted from the front of the box. In the final stages of the match, the red and white team set again to demonstrate their defensive strength by answering to all of the offensive attacks from the local team, enjoying one last chance in the stoppage time from Raúl García, the scorer of the match.
