Raúl Garcia played his 300th match with our Club's shirt in this season’s fourteenth League round against Elche. A bit more than a week ago, Raúl García accomplished another record with the red and white shirt; he equalled Adelardo's record as the Atlético player who had played the most European matches, a total of 66.

The Spanish international has become one of the heavyweights in the locker room and his performances of defending our colours have been essential to winning the League championship, a European Cup, two European Super Cups, a King's Cup and a Spanish Super Cup.

The red and white ‘8’ pointed out after the match “I’m happy with the win, above all. In the end, as I always say, you look at numbers in the future. Of course, I’m happy to having reached that number because I’ve been here for a long time, trying to do things well. What’s important is that today we’ve won and the best thing is to keep winning. I’m happy with the number, but I can keep adding matched to it.
