Raul Garcia completes 250 top flight games

The Atletico number 8 reached 250 games in el Riazor, where he started and was a key player in a game that saw Atletico certify their place in the Champions League for next season.

Raul Garcia Escudero (Pamplona, July 11, 1986) can boast of having already played 250 games in the First Division. At just 26 years old, the Atletico midfielder is one of the squad members with the most games under his belt and more experience in football.

The path of Raul Garcia in the top flight of Spanish football began in Osasuna when just was just 18 years old and Javier Aguirre gave him the chance in the first team of the Navarran club. After playing two games in the 2004/2005 season, the player became a regular the following season when he played 33 games, scoring 5 goals. His good performances in his home club saw him sign for Atletico in the 2007/2008 season where he played 36 games and scored 3 times.

After returning to play at Osasuna last season on loan, Raul Garcia has won Simeone’s confidence and has become the third top scorer after Falcao and Diego Costa, scoring important goals earned Atletico victories in Cornella against Espanyol (0-1). With 9 goals this season he completed his 250th top flight game last night in Riazor.
