Pulido: 'I’m very happy to belong to this Club and have signed an extension”
“I hope to earn myself a place in the squad”
Jorge Pulido was the player in charge of attending to the media after Tuesday’s training at the Majadahonda Sports Complex. The ‘rojiblanco’ player spoke about his recent contract extension, which keeps him at the Club until 2014, and assured that the ‘rojiblanco’ squad is looking forward to being able to dedicate a victory to its supporters in the upcoming league fixture against Sevilla.
With respect to his renewal, the centre-half appeared satisfied and assured that he’s “happy to belong to this Club and to have signed a three-year extension. I hope to play as well as possible and win titles.” The home-grown player also commented that after the win over Zaragoza last week that “we’re pretty excited. We’re looking forward to playing against Sevilla on Saturday and hope to win, which is the most important thing.”
Regarding the participation of Koke this past weekend and the possibility that he too could do so soon, Pulido stated that “we feel the same as when we play with the B team; we’re always training with them and if we’re given the chance we’re going to go out to show what we can do. They’re counting on us a lot, so we’re very excited. It’s really nice, especially because a few years ago it seemed pretty complicated because there weren’t many players in the academy. But players such as De Gea and Domínguez, who are up there now, give you the strength to keep working.”
The centre-half highlighted that he’s very satisfied to train every day with the first squad, since “above all you learn from your teammates, because they’re people who have experience. The only thing that they tell us is to be relaxed and play as we know how.”
Personally, Jorge Pulido commented that his closest goal is to earn “a spot in the squad and play in the first team.” In any case, he’s not in a rush as he believes that “time will tell; right now I’m only thinking about working with the first squad during the week and, if they don’t call me up, to play with the B team. That’s my personal goal for this year. Then we’ll see what happens next year.”
