Prestigious win in San Mamés
Important win against Athletic in San Mamés. Oblak saved a penalty in the first half and Correa and Carrasco scored after the interval. Raúl García scored the 1-2 in the added time.
The match at San Mamés was intense from the beginning. As the minutes advanced, our team started to control the game and the chances started coming. First, one from Griezmann in a free kick, later Gaitán hit the post and then the Frenchman tested the home keeper again. Afterwards, there was the controversial penalty kick taken by Aduriz and saved by Oblak with a masterful hand. Before the interval, a goal from Griezmann was disallowed and Kepa saved a finish from Filipe Luis.
Griezmann warned after the break with a shot that the Basque keeper cleared, but he could not save the goal from Correa after a great play between the Frenchman and Koke. The goal was the prize for a good match from the whole team, that went from less to more and scored the second goal with a spectacular assist from Griezmann that Carrasco converted into the 0-2. Raúl García shortened distances in the added time but could not avoid our team’s victory.
