Preliminary agreement for David Villa

Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Asturian striker.

Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona have reached a tentative agreement for the transfer of striker David Villa to Atleti. This agreement will be consolidated once the Spanish footballer undergoes a medical examination and signs his contract with the club.

David Villa has won two leagues (2011 and 2013), three Cups (2004, 2008 and 2012), and two Super Cups (2004 and 2011). In Europe Villa added the UEFA Champions League, the European Super Cup and Club World Cup with Barcelona in 2011.

With 56 goals and 92 caps, Villa has been instrumental in the recent successes of the national team. Added to his long list of winners medals at the club level, the Spain number 7 won Euro 2008, being the top scorer with 4 goals, and the 2010 World Cup, which with 5 goals winning the Silver Boot and Bronze Ball. In both events, he was included in the Best XI of the championship. Atletico's new striker is the top scorer in the history of the Spanish national team beating players like Raul, Fernando Torres, Morientes or Butragueño.
