Pochettino: “Atlético is one of the best teams in Spain”
“We’re going to an incredibly tough stadium; they’re a fearsome team”
Mauricio Pochettino is clearly aware of the danger that Atlético presents as well as their potential. The Espanyol manager stated at his pre-game press conference that they’ll be facing “one of the best teams in Spain, in an incredibly difficult stadium.”
The head coach of Espanyol was appreciative of the kind words spoken of him by the Atlético manager, Quique Sánchez Flores. Likewise, he highlighted that “they’re a very balanced side.” He attributed this to the good work for the ‘rojiblanco’ manager and his coaching staff.
“Atlético are UEFA Champions and a fearsome team from three-quarters up forward. They have enormous potential, but we’re going to go there with nerve. We have to be aggressive and brave. I expect an opponent that’s coming off of winning at Anoeta and that will want to play a good game in front of their supporters,” stated Pochettino.
