'Our work and mission is that the fans go home happy with the team's performance'

'After this game, we face a test where we have to measure our level against the best'

Gregorio Manzano, coach of Atletico Madrid, appeared at a news conference after the match against Sporting Gijon, happy with the outcome and, as happened a few days ago, highlighting and emphasising the quality and capacity of Radamel Falcao’s goal scoring ability.   The Colombian was again the star of the show and in the press room at the Vicente Calderon the manager praised the striker saying that 'he is a great scorer for the good of our fans and for Spanish football. You would have to go back in the history of Atletico Madrid to find a player who, in seven days, has created so many chances, so many in a short period of time. He has adapted so quickly and I'm sure that he will rub shoulders with the great scorers in our league such as Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.'   'The team must continue working to Falcao, it’s for the rest of his teammates to continue to maintain this constant offensive play in to the area where he is a real killer. The three home games have gone off without a hitch and we must now try to transfer that same form away from home' the Atletico coach explained.   With respect to the rotations of the last few games and in particular, the absence of Godin, the professor acknowledged that 'I've always said that the squad is more important than the individual. Diego could have gotten the call, but he still has discomfort and we preferred to have him available in future meetings.'   Gregorio Manzano was inevitably be asked by the next league match against FC Barcelona 'Today we have passed this test positively. After this game, we face a test where we have to measure our level against the best team out there today. I'm happy to follow the same line of work regardless of outcome'.   Finally, Gregorio Manzano admitted that 'Our work and mission is that the fans go home happy by the team's performance'.
