Our 2019/20 preseason schedule
Check out what matches our team is going to play before starting the season.
The 2019/20 season is nearly upon us and our team wants to get ready for it in the best possible manner. Our preseason officially begins on 4 July, when our players return to Madrid for their fitness check-ups. We will start at the Ciudad Deportiva Majadahonda and after three days of exercising, we will continue at the Ciudad Deportiva Wanda Los Ángeles de San Rafael. After two weeks of training sessions, the lads will begin playing friendly matches to be able to start the season in great shape.
At the moment, we're going to play six friendly matches. We'll kick off our friendlies with the Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial game in Burgo de Osma, Soria on 20 July. The match will kick-off at 7:00 p.m. CET. It will be the fourth edition of the Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial that our first team will play in Soria, where we will pay tribute to the man who was the Red & White president between 1987 and 2003.
After this game, our team will travel to the USA to play three matches, two of them of the International Champions Cup. First, we will face Chivas de Guadalajara at the Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas on 23 July at 20:00 (3:00 a.m. CET on 24 July). Just four days later we will face Real Madrid at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 26 July at 20:00 (2:00 a.m. CET on 27 July).
Following the two matches, our team will go to Orlando to play the last game in the USA on 31 July at 20:00 (2:00 a.m. CET on 1 August). Our team will face a squad of Major League Soccer stars at Florida’s Orlando City Stadium, with great players like Carlos Vela, Wayne Rooney or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The next stop will be Mexico. We will play our brothers from Atlético de San Luis at their home – the Alfonso Lastras Ramírez stadium – on 3 August at 12 pm (7 p.m. CET). This way, we’ll visit our sister club, who have just achieved promotion to the Liga MX. Their remarkable achievement took place on May 5, when Atlético de San Luis beat Dorados in the 2019 Clausura. Our sister club had also won the 2018 Apertura.
Our final friendly will be on 10 August in the Friends Arena against Juventus at 6:00 p.m. CET. It'll be our third and final match of the 2019 ICC. It will be our final game before the LaLiga season starts.
