On Friday, we will learn our opponents in the Champions League Round of 16
The Rojiblancos will face either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. The first leg with take place at the Allianz Arena or the Santiago Bernabéu, while the second will be played at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Dates and times TBC.
This Friday, the Champions League Round of 16 draw will take place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland. Our possible opponents are Bayern München and Real Madrid. The Rojiblancos will be away at the Allianz Arena or the Santiago Bernabéuin the first leg on either 4 or 5 March, while the second leg will be played at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano the following week.
Atleti finished in fifth place in the league phase, which saw them qualify directly for the Round of 16, meaning we will have home advantage in the second leg.
In the play-offs, Bayern knocked out Celtic (3-2 on aggregate) and Real Madrid beat Manchester City (6-3).
The draw will also lay out the full tournament bracket. The dates of each round are:
- Round of 16: 4/5 and 11/12 March
- Quarter-finals: 8/9 and 15/16 April
- Semi-finals: 29/30 April and 6/7 May
- Final: 31 May (Munich)
