Oblak makes 300th Atleti appearance
The Slovenian is three games away from equalling Abel Resino as the goalkeeper with the most appearances in our club’s history.
Jan Oblak made his 300th Atleti appearance during Saturday’s match at the Camp Nou.
Since his arrival in 2014, the Slovenian has won the Spanish Super Cup, the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup. in the meantime, he has become one of the world’s best goalkeepers. In 2019, the 28-year-old signed a contract extension with Atleti and became the club’s second captain.
Oblak made the UEFA Champions League Team of the Year in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons and the UEFA Europa League Best XI in 2017/18. He has also won four Zamora trophies (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19).
Moreover, on June 17, 2020, the Slovenian kept his 100th LaLiga clean sheet after just 182 games – less than any other goalkeeper in the history of the competition.
The 28-year-old is now just three games away from equalling Abel Resino (303) as the goalkeeper with the most appearances in our club’s history.
