The Wanda Metropolitano will host a must-win match for Atlético de Madrid. Roma will visit Madrid on Wednesday, 22 November, and Atlético know what they need to do: win. This will be the fourth time Atlético face Roma and so far, our club has never lost to the Italian side (two wins and one draw).
Roma are currently fourth in the Serie A and in their last league match, they beat city-rivals Lazio (2-1).
When we faced Roma in the Stadio Olimpico, the game ended in a nil-nil draw, although Atlético had numerous chances to win the match.
To be able to have a chance to quaify for the Champions League Round of 16, Atlético must win against both Roma and Chelsea.
“Tomorrow, we must think of ourselves instead of Qarabag [vs Chelsea], because there's one more Champions League match,” Simeone said. “We hope to live up to our expectations.”
Koke, like Simeone, knows how important tomorrow's game is.
“Tomorrow’s match is a big one and that should motivate us,” he said. “Winning is the only thing that counts for us and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”
