Mr. Enrique Cerezo: “The clubhouse is aware of the current situation”
“The manager has the confidence of the Club”
Mr. Enrique Cerezo is hoping that the cars that were given by one of the Club’s sponsors, Kia Motors, to the players, give them a boost for the match against Deportivo. “They’re magnificent cars and the players are delighted to receive them. We’re not going through a good patch, losing to Aris and Levante, but there’s no need to sound the alarm. It’s a time to think, put ourselves back together, and reflect on what we’re doing wrong, as we must be doing something wrong to have lost those games. The clubhouse is aware of the current situation and the players are the only ones who can get out of this rut, as they’re the ones who play and scores goals, and keep them out. They’re professionals and have to give everything for the Club,” he assured after the Kia cars were presented to the players.
The President acknowledged that he is concerned about the loss to Aris, since “we’re practically out of European competition. Of the three competitions, we might end up playing in only two of them. Although we can still play a good role in La Liga, and I think that we will, and in the Copa del Rey we’ll try to make it to the final.”
The head director of the ‘rojiblanco’ organization continued to analyse the athletic situation of the team. “The squad is made up of, and I’m not the one saying this, but rather the media and fans, great players. They have to focus and play with more intensity. They have to fight for the goals set at the beginning of the season, to win titles,” he assured.
Mr. Enrique Cerezo also took advantage of his appearance before the media to make it clear that “of course Quique Sánchez Flores still has the Club’s full confidence. As regards the signing of Elias, all of the reports that we have are magnificent; he’s a player that we might need and we’ll try to get him here by the beginning of January. I don’t know anything about Miranda. I don’t think that signing in January means that we’ve failed the first part of the course, but that depends on each player.
“I don’t like to talk about a crisis; it doesn’t exist amongst the supporters, board of directors, manager and Club. We’re going through a poor run of play. We have to try and be more consistent and achieve what we all want to achieve, which are victories. The advantage of football is that you test yourself every week,” Mr. Enrique Cerezo wrapped up.
