MATCH PREVIEW | ESPANYOL – ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Mission: three points at Espanyol

Our team travels to Barcelona as we look to pick up three more points on Sunday.

Atleti take on Espanyol away on Sunday at 2pm CET as we look to pick up three more points in LaLiga.

The game arrives two weeks after our previous fixture, just as the international break has come to an end. Simeone’s men earned a last-minute draw against Villarreal in the last match, despite creating countless chances throughout the clash. The 2-2 draw meant Atleti currently have seven points in LaLiga out of a possible nine.

Espanyol, on the other hand, achieved promotion to the top flight of Spanish football last season, when they finished top of the Segunda División. In their first three games of the season, they have picked up two draws – against Osasuna and Villarreal – and a defeat at Mallorca.

The last time we faced the Catalan side was in the 2019/20 season. That year, we won 3-1 at the Wanda Metropolitano and drew 1-1 in Barcelona.
