MATCH PREVIEW | CÁDIZ CF – ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Mission: three points at Cádiz

Our team travels to Cádiz for a must-win LaLiga game that is to be played on Sunday at 6.30pm CET.

Atleti gear up for a new LaLiga away fixture as we take on Cádiz at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla. The game is to be kick off on Sunday at 6.30pm CET.

Simeone’s men earned a late win over Osasuna in the previous league match thanks to a Felipe goal. We will now look to pick up three more points on Sunday. Cádiz, on the other hand, suffered a big defeat at Getafe (4-0).

Our record against the Andalusian club is very positive – having recorded 16 wins, five draws and five defeats from 26 games. Our last official match against Cádiz was played last season, when we won 4-2 on the road thanks to a Suárez brace and goals from Saúl and Koke. We also faced them in a friendly this summer, which the home side won in the penalty shootout.

Álvaro Cervera’s side are yet to win at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla this season. They’re also the LaLiga team that has picked up the least points at home so far. However, Cádiz are one point above the relegation zone – having earned 12 points so far, which allows them to sit in 16th place in the league standings-

Atleti are currently fourth – although we have played a game less than many of our LaLiga opponents – with 26 points. It’s a must-win clash for our team if we want to remain close to the current league leaders – who as of now have four more points than us.
