Mission: three key points at Betis

Key game at the Benito Villamarín. Atleti gear up for the second straight fixture in Seville, where we’ll face Betis at 9pm CET on Sunday. Our team will look to pick up three key points that allow us to stay on top of the LaLiga standings against a side that have won their last three home matches.
Despite our 1-0 defeat against Sevilla last Sunday, Simeone’s men are the league leaders – having earned one more point than FC Barcelona and three more than Real Madrid. Those clubs will meet on Saturday for El Clásico, so we have the chance to increase our lead with at least one of them.
Doing so will be no easy task, though, as Betis are completing an excellent season and are fifth in the LaLiga standings. Pellegrini’s side drew their last game at Elche but have won their last three home fixtures, the last of which was a 2-0 success over Levante thanks to the goals from Nabil Fekir and Juanmi Jiménez.
Atleti will therefore need to perform at a high level to earn the three points, like we did in the reverse fixture. That time, we won 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano thanks to the strikes from Llorente and Suárez.
