Miguel Ángel Gil has participated this Thursday in a speech in the World Football Summit, the first great international convention on the football industry. Our CEO shared a round table with Maheta Molango, CEO of Real Club Deportivo Mallorca, and Javier Gómez, LaLiga’s Corporate General Manager. Juan José Cano, partner of KPMG, was the moderator.

Our CEO began the chat by praising the work done by LaLiga: "Under LaLiga's umbrella, it rains less on the clubs." Gil Marín noted the work done against match-fixing, violence and the economic control.

Regarding the entrance of Wanda in the shareholding, he said "It’s not a financial partner but a strategic partner, which, other than in Asia, operates in Europe and the United States, and works in very diverse fields – in addition to real-estate – such as culture, leisure and contents. We seek that this company opens more doors for us. The truth is that we are very satisfied with our relationship."

In addition, Miguel Ángel Gil spoke about the club’s economic plans: "We made a plan to reach a budget of 300 million in the 2019/2020 season and this season we have already reached 280 million. We are working on having an ordinary revenue budget of 400 million in the 2019/2020 season."

As one of the most important keys to maintain the growth of the club in the coming years, our CEO stressed the importance of having great fans: "A club is as big as its social mass."

He also referred to the arrival of new investors in LaLiga: "The future investors have to guarantee budgetary stability, innovate and make compatible the management model with the values of the fans. These people have to realise that the club belongs to the fans, the veterans, the senate and the players."
