PLAYERS WORKING DAY BEGAN AT EIGHT IN THE MORNING

Medical tests before another intense session

The entire squad was subjected to the routine analysis of blood. Another session of physical work lasting two hours and this afternoon another training session in Majadahonda.

Atletico Madrid faced their second day of preseason at the Majadahonda Sports City. Today the Atletico players arrived at eight o'clock to submit routine blood tests for the start of the season. The preparation is essential and Diego Pablo Simeone’s squad must be one hundred percent to meet an exciting season that will see them defend their Copa del Rey title as well as competing the Supercopa of Spain against the league champion Barcelona and above all a new adventure for the most important competition in the world: the UEFA Champions League.

Players who attended the training were the same as yesterday: Courtois, Asenjo, Bono, Juanfran, Miranda, Pulido, Cabrera, Insua, Mario Suarez, Gabi, Tiago, Rubén Pérez, Raúl García, Arda Turan, Pizzi, Diego Costa, Adrian, Leo Baptistão, Borja, Pedro and Aquino. The Argentine central defender Cata Díaz joined the rest of his teammates. In total 22 players were there. The only absentees were those contesting the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey and those who played the Confederations Cup; Filipe, Godin and Cristian Rodriguez, and the brand new Under 21s European champions from Israel -Koke and Joel.

After the analysis, the team worked an hour in the gym. Once completed, the fitness trainer Oscar Ortega led training on field 4 of Cerro del Espino. The session was divided into a very physical part, with continuous running to warm up and an itinerary in which the speed and coordination were worked. In the second part of the session, the coach drew up a circuit with ball work. Finally, they did some rondos where the players had fun and relaxed.

After the two-hour morning session, Atletico never rests. Today at half past six in the evening, there will be another practice session. Non stop.
