Mario Suarez: "My call up is a reward for Atletico"
The midfielder attended the press conference to talk about how lucky we were in the draw for the Champions League , the game against Real Sociedad especially his return to the national team.
Before the afternoon session, Mario Suarez spoke at a press conference in the sports city of Majadahonda to express his joy at being called up for the national team alongside his teammates Koke and Villa for games against Finland on the 6th of September and a friendly against Chile on September 10th "Getting called up for the national team is a dream. I want to thank the coach and say that this is a prize for Atletico de Madrid at the good time in which we find ourselves. I will make the most of it and give everything to get back on future occasions."
Undoubtedly, the three Atleti players called up is a great story and isn’t down to luck. The great work done over the last few years is a reflection . The midfielder is clear what the secret is: " Since I came to Atleti , the upper Cup was my fifth final in the three years and two months I've been here . We've won four of them and that’s down to the club and all the players that represent their national teams. The coach since he arrived has changed it all for the better. We must continue on this line in order to remain there and continue to demonstrate that Atletico Madrid is a big club."
He also gave his opinion on the draw for the Champions League, and the teams we face like Porto, Zenit St Petersburg or Vienna Austria : "The group is very complicated. We’ve played Porto in previous years and they have beaten us, they’ve got very good players. Zenit have quality players like Witsel, Danny or Hulk, and Vienna Austria is perhaps the least known but we have to be careful too. In football it’s true to say there is no easy teams ," said Mario.
Finally , Mario Suarez put the emphasis on the upcoming match against Real Sociedad . "We always respect the opponent, Real are doing very well. They’re very dynamic and are very dangerous up front, but we are important and if we are at one hundred percent and we do things as we do them , we will have more chances. We’ll go out looking to win like we do in every ground then see what happens," he concluded.
