Luis García: 'Atlético is a great team, but they’re going to face a highly motivated opponent”

The manager believes that the match will mark the team’s goal

Luis García, maanger of Levante, is clear that the game against Atlético de Madrid could mark the season for his side. “This match is going to decide what we can fight for until the end of the season. If we lose, we’ll have five weeks to wrap up our permanence in the First Division. But if we win or draw, a door would be opened to achieve something more, a hope of battling for the best to play in Europa League, which would be an incredible goal,” stated the coach.

Luis García prefers to remain cautious and not speak about the team earning salvation, and stated that “we can’t say anything until we mathematically achieve that. But it’s true that we all know that we’re going to earn points from here until the end of the season. We have tough matches left, but even if we just get a few points, we’ll stay up, because we’re not going to be relegated with 43 or 44 points.”

Levante UD will head into the Vicente Calderon tomorrow looking to win. “We’re really looking forward to the trip, but aware of how difficult the game will be. Atlético de Madrid will always be the favorites over us at home for many reasons. Furthemore, they’re in good form right now. They have a great squad, a great coach, but are going to come up against a highly motivated opponent,” finished Luis García.
