Lucas Hernández renewed until 2019
The French will continue to be linked to our club until the year 2019. The young defender came to the red and white entity in 2007 at only 11. The defender is already a part of the first team.
The club and Lucas Hernández have reached an agreement for the renewal of the French player for two more seasons, therefore the contract of the player is extended until 2019. The defender came to Atlético de Madrid in the summer of 2007 at 11. After eight years in the lower categories, this season Lucas has made the leap to the first team led by Simeone.
Last season he trained with the first team and made his debut in the first round of the King’s Cup. In addition, he played his first minutes in the League in the team's 4-1 victory at San Mamés and played the 90 minutes in the 2-0 win against Real Madrid in the King’s Cup. However, most of his minutes were accumulated in the reserve team and the youth team in the Youth League, a team of which he was captain. His versatility allows him to play both as a centre-field and left-back. In addition, he is an international with France in the lower categories, currently in the U-19.
