PREVIEW | MATCHDAY 19

Looking for a sixth consecutive home victory

Atlético de Madrid host Osasuna this Sunday at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano (16:15 CET) with the aim of securing their sixth consecutive home victory.

Diego Pablo Simeone's side return home almost a month after their last match there, which ended in a 1-0 victory against Getafe thanks to a headed goal from Sorloth. Since then, they have claimed victory at the Olímpic Lluis Companys against Barcelona (2-1, with goals from De Paul and Sorloth) and in the Copa del Rey against Marbella (1-0, with a goal from Griezmann). The objective now is to achieve their 14th consecutive win across all competitions when they host Osasuna.

Interestingly, Osasuna were the last team to win at our stadium, in the final match of last season (4-1). That encounter came after Atlético had already mathematically secured Champions League qualification the previous matchday with a 3-0 win over Getafe at the Coliseum. The visitors arrive in good away form, having lost only once in their last five matches on the road — a 4-0 defeat at the Bernabéu against Real Madrid. During this run, they won 2-0 at the Reale Arena against Real Sociedad and drew against Getafe (1-1), Sevilla (1-1), and Espanyol (0-0).

Atlético de Madrid remain unbeaten at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano this season, with only Espanyol (0-0) and Real Madrid (1-1) managing to take points away. The other seven matches have all ended in victory, a trend they hope to continue into the new year in front of their fans.
