Atleti earned a 2-0 derby win at Getafe on Thursday thanks to the second half goals from Llorente and Thomas.

The hosts collected a few chances in the opening minutes of the game, including shot that Felipe was forced to save on the line. Costa was close to putting us in front with a header, but he was off target. It was our biggest chance of the first half.

Our striker had an even bigger chance at the beginning of the second half following a fantastic team play. Llorente provided a great through ball for Arias, the Colombian crossed it and Costa was off target. But we kept pushing and found the opener shortly thereafter. Carrasco assisted Llorente on the edge of the box, and the Spaniard finished in style to put is in front. Thomas, Vitolo and Morata came on for Saúl, Carrasco and the goalscorer in the next few minutes. The Ghanaian doubled our lead in the final stretch of the game, and after Herrera and Lemar came on for Costa and Correa, the match ended.

Atleti picked up another three points and are now unbeaten in the last 17 games.
