Atleti completed an epic comeback against Espanyol on Sunday to win the game 2-1. Carrasco and Lemar scored the goals.

The hosts almost took the lead early on. Fortunately, Oblak pulled off a world-class save. Our team reacted well and collected a double chance from Griezmann and Suárez. The Uruguayan would go on to have more chances before the break. However, Espanyol scored in the dying minutes of the first half as de Tomás headed the ball into the back of the net.

Simeone made a triple change at half-time. Lodi, Kondogbia and Lemar came on for Hermoso, Trippier and Correa. We started the second half much better and collected several chances, while applying high pressure and constantly attacking the opposition. Kondogbia and Lemar both had good chances to level the scoreboard, but their shots flew just wide. We eventually found the equaliser that we deserved through Lemar, but the referee decided to disallow it after a VAR check due to an alleged Suárez offside. Joao Félix then came on for Griezmann, and with around 20’ to go, Simeone made the final substitution as Cunha came on for Suárez. We finally equalised in the 80th minute through Carrasco… and it was all-out attack until the end of the game as we searched for the winner. Lodi, Joao Félix and Carrasco all had big chances to win the match… but we couldn’t find the back of the net. Luckily, Atleti never stop believing and in the last minute, Lemar sent a right-foot strike into the back of the net to win the game and send us all into delirium.
