Atleti are back in action after the international break. This weekend, we travel to Vitoria to take on Deportivo Alavés, managed by Quique Sánchez-Flores.

The Madrid-born coach was in charge of our team during the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons. During his time with the club, he oversaw 102 matches and won the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup.

Our last visit to the Basque side ended in a 1-1 draw, with Giuliano Simeone scoring for us and Carlos Vicente finding the net for the hosts.

Last season, when they visited the Riyadh Air Metropolitano with Eduardo Coudet in charge, we secured victory thanks to a goal from Sørloth. We head into the clash with Alavés after a derby win against Real Madrid in our last league outing.

Deportivo Alavés welcome us following a goalless draw away to Athletic Club at San Mamés. Their most recent home match this season was against Valencia, which ended in victory for the visitors.

We have faced Deportivo Alavés a total of 39 times in competitive football throughout our history, recording 21 wins, seven draws and 11 defeats.
