LaLiga has informed Atlético de Madrid that Álvaro Morata’s buyout fee has been officially deposited. The Madrid-born striker is thus bidding farewell to our Club after 58 goals in 154 appearances.
On Tuesday, with the team holding a training camp in Los Ángeles de San Rafael, the player personally informed the Club and his teammates of his decision to leave. Subsequently, his buyout clause was deposited with LaLiga and AC Milan announced the signing on its official social media channels.
Morata arrived at our Club in January 2019 after a spell at Chelsea. His first stint with the with the Rojiblancos saw him score 22 goals in 61 appearances, including in that unforgettable comeback at Anfield in the round of 16 of the 2019/20 Champions League.
After playing for Juventus, the striker returned to our Club in the summer of 2022. During his second adventure at the Cívitas Metropolitano, he found the net 36 times in 93 appearances, while he also won the UEFA Nations League and European Championship with Spain.
