Koke: "The midfielders work to score more goals"
The young midfielder had the same to say as Simeone in yesterday’s press conference, stating that the team is still working to improve.
Following Atlético's training session in the Majadahonda Sports City, Jorge Resurrección, Koke, passed through the pressroom. The number 6 agrees with what Simeone had to say in term of the whole team is working to improve. "We have not found our game although we’re having a lot of the ball. The team has to work to keep improving," he said.
The Madrid born midfielder analysed Atletico’s performances in recent games and gave the key to increasing the level of the team. "We are not quite at it with the final ball and aren’t holding the ball well enough. We're trying to play very direct, if we have a bit more of the ball, we can improve," he said.
The Atletico coach wants a greater role for the midfielders in front of goal helping out Falcao and Diego Costa. Koke ensures that he is working to find the net more often. "It is true that the midfield hasn’t got many goals but we are trying to keep working and go slowly getting there," he said.
The Under-21 international with Spain was questioned about Saul Ñíguez, a player with very similar characteristics to him and often works with the members of the first team. "If they are with us, it is because they are ready to play first team football when needed by the coach," he said.
