Antonio López returns to the squad after sitting out his suspension in the Cup
Quique Sánchez Flores has called up 20 players for the fixture against Sporting de Gijón, which will kick off the second round of league play. Injured players Agüero, Mario Suárez and Reyes were not included on the roster and the large novelty is the presence of three reserve squad players, Koke, Alberto Perea and Borja González. With respect to the Cup squad list, Antonio López returns after sitting out a one-match suspension for his red card against Mallorca.
The ‘rojiblanco’ side held a closed door training session at the Majadahonda Sports Complex for approximately one-and-a-half hours, in their final practice before heading to Gijón. The team has a charter flight from Barajas Airport scheduled to take off at 6 pm.
