Juanfran: "Now we will see if our season is good, very good or great"
Juanfran Torres attended a news conference after the morning training session to emphasise that the team "always gives its best." Moreover, the desire and enthusiasm will be key to the end of the season.
Juanfran Torres was excited about the season run in with Atletico playing for the second place and the Copa del Rey. "It's an exciting season finale. We have to play some very big games where we play with everything and where we will see if our season has been good, very good or great. Hopefully it is fantastic. We’re giving everything to finish seconds, to win the Cup final and give as good as possible like we've done all season" he said.
For the man from Alicante, the next league game will be difficult. "The games are always tough in Seville. I went with Osasuna and no one gave us anything. I've been with Atletico Madrid and they have always been very complicated. We are looking forward to it and will give everything to win. As I said, we want to finish second and to finishing second we must win all our remaining games and win at the Sanchez Pizjuan," he said.
The Atletico full back was also asked about the international side, "What matters most to me now is to do well with the team and hopefully I will get the call from the coach. I was hopeful to be involved last time but it wasn’t to be. Given that, I can not let down the guard and I have to keep working and doing things right to return to the team and hopefully as soon as possible".
Diego Pablo Simeone always has good words for Juanfran and the player wanted thank him "Cholo's words are very important to me. I am very grateful for the confidence that he has always given me. What the coach thinks is very important for a footballer and as I said many times, I have to prove on the field that I'm an Atletico Madrid player and I play for the team."
Sunday's win 5-0 is cause for optimism for Simeone’s men. "We needed a victory against Granada. When you come off the back of a few results that haven’t been so good, it’s important to get a big result. We must take what we have and that Victory over the Granada has given us a lot of confidence. The most important thing for the club is that next year we are in the Champions League. I am convinced that we will be. We have very little to do to finalise it," he said.
