FIFTH TIME HE WINS THE AWARD

Jan Oblak wins 2020/21 Zamora Trophy

It’s the 14th time an Atleti goalkeeper wins the trophy.

Jan Oblak has won the Zamora Trophy for the fifth time in his career. The award distinguishes the LaLiga goalkeeper with the lowest "goals-to-game" ratio after a minimum of 28 games.

The Slovenian has played every league match this season – conceding only 24 times and keeping 18 clean sheets. Moreover, he saved key penalties against Alavés and Sevilla.

It’s the 14th time an Atleti goalkeeper wins the award, after Fernando Tabales (39-40), Marcel Domingo (48-49), Luis Menéndez (53-54), Rodri (70-71), Miguel Reina (76-77), Abel Resino (90-91), José Francisco Molina (95-96), Thibaut Courtois (12-13 and 13-14) and, of course, Jan Oblak (15-16, 16-17, 17-18 and 18-19).

Oblak has now equalled Antoni Ramallets and Víctor Valdés as the only goalkeepers to have won the Zamora Award five times.
