Jan Oblak nominated for FIFA FIFPro World 11 Best Goalkeeper
The Slovenian has been nominated for Best Goalkeeper thanks to his performance in 2019.
Jan Oblak has been nominated for Best Goalkeeper in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 awards, both organizations announced on Thursday. The Slovenian is one of the five nominees for Best Goalkeeper, having enjoyed a fantastic 2019 in which he won his fourth straight Zamora Trophy.
The following goalkeepers have also been shortlisted for the award: Marc-Andre ter Stegen (FC Barcelona), Alisson Becker (Liverpool), David de Gea (Manchester United) and Ederson Moraes (Manchester City).
Over 23,000 footballers have voted for the nominees, and the FIFA FIFPro World 11 will be made up of one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three strikers. The winners are to be announced during the Best Football Awards on Monday, Sep. 23 at Milan’s La Scala.
