AS THE SECOND GOALKEEPER WITH THE MOST APPEARANCES FOR ATLETI

Jan Oblak equals Molina’s tally of 248 Atleti games

The Slovenian has equalled Atleti legend José Francisco Molina as the second goalkeeper with the most appearances in the club’s history.

Jan Oblak on Saturday played his 248th game for Atleti, equalling Red & White legend José Francisco Molina as the second goalkeeper with the most appearances in our club’s history. The Spain international played at the Vicente Calderón between 1995 and 2000 and was a key member in our Double-winning season.

Since his arrival in 2014, Oblak has consistently proven he’s one of the world’s best goalkeepers. Last year, the Slovenian signed a new contract at the club until 2023, and this season he became one of our captains.

In his six seasons in Madrid, Oblak has won a Spanish Super Cup title (2014), one Europa League (2017/18) and one UEFA Super Cup (2018). Morever, he made the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season in 2015/16 and 2016/17. He did the same the year after, as he was named the best goalkeeper in the Europa League. While at Atleti, the 27-year-old has won four straight Zamora Trophies (2015-2019).

Oblak continues to break records at our club. Now, only the legendary Abel Resino (303) has played more games than the Slovenian.
