CONTINUES TO EXPAND ITS LEGEND

Jan Oblak equals Calleja

The Slovenian goalkeeper joins Isacio Calleja as the sixth most-capped player in the club's history with 425 appearances as an Atleti player.

Thanks to Sunday's start at the Santiago Bernabéu, Jan Oblak has 425 games in our jersey, a milestone that allows him to tie with Isacio Calleja as the sixth player in the history of Atlético de Madrid who has worn the Red & White shirt the most times, while the Slovenian goalkeeper will soon surpass the legendary full-back from Palencia and could even enter the top five of players with the most appearances for our club.

Moreover, Oblak is the foreigner with the most appearances as an Atlético de Madrid player. He arrived at our club on 16 July 2014 and made his debut defending our goal on 16 September of the same year in a Champions League match against Olympiacos. After a decade here, he has left unforgettable performances that have led him to win the Zamora award five times, to be part of the ideal team of the UEFA Champions League 2015/16, 2016/17 and the UEFA Europa League 2017/18 and to be capped by his national team, Slovenia, even wearing the captain's armband. In terms of titles, he has a brilliant track record, winning a Spanish Super Cup (2014), a Europa League (2018), a European Super Cup (2018) and LaLiga 2020/21.

Congratulations, Jan!
