"I'm happy with the goal and the result"
Cristian Rodriguez rounded off the first win of the season with a goal in injury time. He dedicated the goal to his future daughter, who will be born in November.
The Uruguayan said about his goal that "they say it was a great goal but I have not had chance to see it. I am happy with the goal and the result."
He made it clear that the team continues with the same philosophy of last season and is only thinking about the next game. "This is just the beginning, we must go step by step because it is a long season," he said.
Falcao is no longer at the club but Diego Costa is on fire. "Anyone would miss Falcao because he’s a world class goal scorer but Diego Costa is doing very well and he deserves what he is getting. Hopefully I can continue throughout the year as well" he said.
Regarding Villa, Cristian Rodriguez said that "It’s a new new start. Everyone knows him and we’re sure he will get a lot of goals because it has a special quality. I wish him well and I hope he goes on to show what a good player he is."
He concluded by saying that "the goal is to win the final, have a good Champions League and be among the top three."
