ATLETICO TRAIN ON PERUVIAN SOIL

Diego Pablo Simeone and his players trained for the first time in Lima, a city that will dispute the second Euroamericana Cup match on Thursday against Sporting Cristal.

Atletico Madrid landed in Lima, Peru, in the early hours of Sunday to Monday. The Peruvian capital will play host to the second match of the Copa Euroamericana at dawn on Thursday (at 3:00 CET Spanish) against Sporting Cristal, cameras from DirecTV and Canal + Liga will show the game.

With time running out, Diego Pablo Simeone called up his players at 10:00 am local time (17:00 on the peninsula) in Sporting Cristal facilities located in the urbanization of La Florida, Rimac district, tocontinue the work of preseason.

On the training pitch Simeone spoke with his players before starting a session that was focused on offensive tactics. After the coach's technical talk, Oscar Ortega took command to lead the physical workout and stretching during the first half hour of the session.

After the physical work, players began working on attacking scenarios. The Atletico split the squad in to two groups of 11. Subsequently, Simeone directed an eleven a side game on three quarters of the field, to apply the attacking moves and positioning focussed on in the earlier part of the session.

After the session which lasted for 90 minutes, Germán Burgos along with, Miranda, Koke, Alejo Ivan, David Gil, Milla, Samuel Villa and Nacho Monsalve participated in a clinic in the same training facilities, enjoyed by Peruvian children.

Atletico Madrid will train again this afternoon, from 16:30 (23:30 Spanish time) to continue preparing the second game of the EuroAmerican Cup against Sporting Cristal.
