Hermoso, Llorente fire Atleti to big win at Real Sociedad
Our team beat Real Sociedad 2-0 away to pick up three important points on Tuesday.
Atleti earned an important win at a very tough stadium on Saturday as we beat Real Sociedad 2-0 at the Reale Arena. Hermoso and Llorente provided the goals in the second half.
The first half was intense and our team dominated in the opening minutes, but neither side had big chances to score. The closest we got to taking the lead was from a corner that Lemar took and Hermoso headed towards Suárez, but the Uruguayan couldn’t connect with the ball. In the end, we reached half-time with the score at 0-0.
However, it didn’t take us long to score after the break, as Hermoso headed home a cross from Carrasco to put us in front in the 49th minute. Llorente and the Belgian had chances to double our lead after that, but were unable to convert. Simeone made his first substitution of the game as Saúl came on for Correa. The rhythm of the game decreased in the next few minutes and our team tried to dominate possession. Kondogbia came on for Lemar with 20’ to go and not long after we doubled our lead. This time it was Llorente who put the ball in the back of the net via a strong, left-foot strike. Atleti held on to the lead to pick up three key points at a very tough stadium.
